Masked robbers threaten fuel station staff before making off with cash and tobacco

Police have launched an appeal after a petrol station was robbed by masked raiders. The incident happened at the Esso garage in Rhostyllen.

A North Wales Police statement said: "We are investigating a robbery that took place at a fuel station in Wrexham. Shortly before 12.20am on Sunday, June 9th, it is reported two masked men threatened a member of staff at the Esso garage on Wrexham Road, Rhostyllen, before making off with tobacco and cash."

Detective Inspector Chris Owen added: “We are following some good lines of enquiry as our investigation into this incident continues. I would like to reassure the community that incidents of this nature are rare in Wrexham, and there is not believed to be any wider threat the community.”
