MasterChef final: Viewers urge BBC to announce rescheduled date for episode
MasterChef viewers have called on the BBC to announce when the show’s final will air.
The cookery competition show reached its final run of episodes last week, with the remaining three contestants due to compete on Friday (9 April) night’s grand finale.
However, the show was pulled from scheduling along with all other BBC entertainment programmes out of respect following the death of Prince Philip.
A tweet from the MasterChef Twitter account read: “Following today’s sad news about HRH Prince Philip, tonight’s scheduled #MasterChefUK Final has been postponed.”
At the time of writing, the BBC is yet to announce when the final will air, leading many fans to question when the rescheduled episode will be broadcast.
“Forget pubs opening, all I want to know is when the MasterChef final is finally going to air,” one comment read.
“When is #Masterchef final on?? For the love of god can someone just tell us,” another commenter wrote, while one added: “Does anyone know when the current MasterChef final will be on?”

“Still no sign of the final being scheduled anytime soon,” another Twitter user said. “The ‘lost episode’ it shall now be known as.”
Referencing Line of Duty, which still aired on Sunday (11 April) night, one commenter wrote: “Maybe AC-12 can help out with the disappearance of the MasterChef final.”
The Independent has contacted the BBC for comment.
