Mark Chapman was 'missing in action'' from Euro 2024 on Monday, as he was being backed to be the eventual successor to Gary Lineker on Match of the Day and some viewers argued he is actually a 'better presenter' than the ex England striker.

Mark had fans watching at home chuckling at half time during the match, when he quipped that he was meant to be introducing highlights of the first 45 in the night's other game, as Scotland took on Hungary, but 'couldn't find any.'

As many fans hoped to see him back on screen, Mark was 'missing in action' on Monday, with Gary back to host on BBC! for Croatia v Italy and Gabby Logan doing the honours for Albania v Spain on BBC2, right after she was at the helm of the Scotland match on Sunday and had to make an urgent apology for viewers who were left disgusted when a replay aired of Hungarian player Barnabas Varga's horror injury.
