Friends star Matt LeBlanc has revealed that he plans to retire from acting “earlier rather than later” as he’s keen to “just do nothing.”

The 1990s sitcom star, who now fronts the BBC’s Top Gear, said that he would “love” to quit acting altogether in the near future.

Speaking to Conon O’Brien, LeBlanc said: “I'm 50 in a couple of weeks - I'm getting old.

“I think I would like to retire earlier rather than later because I would like to do not a f***** thing. That's what I would like to do. Just nothing. Nothing. Zero.”

Questioning his plan, O’Brien replied: “You say you would do nothing, but you have to do something. So, explain to me what that something would be.

“You can't just lie in bed all day and have ice cream put into your veins intravenously - wait a minute, maybe you could. What do you want to do?”

The actor went on to say that he had no set plans for his retirement but fantasised that on a typical day he would “sleep as long as you want, or get up early, if you want.”

He added: “It's just not having to go somewhere or having someone else telling you what you have to do. Maybe you go to the gym, or not go to the gym. Maybe you have nine cups of coffee, or not.”

Following his successful runs in Friends and Episodes, Le Blanc has more recently turned his attentions to his passion for motoring, stepping into Chris Evans’s shoes on Top Gear.
