Guy Ritchie movie Toff Guys has kicked off shooting, and we now have a first glimpse of Matthew McConaughey in action.

Not a great deal is known about this project, but it's said to be in the same vein as director Ritchie's early crime movies like Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

As you can see, McConaughey's character might be looking dapper in the fashion department, but the blood seeping out of his mouth suggests a sticky situation indeed.

Further shots from the Toff Guys set unlock one of the dramatic scenes in the film, with the Oscar winner escaping from the inside of a flipped vehicle.

But who caused this urban carnage?

With a cast list boasting Dumbo's Colin Farrell, Hugh Grant, Jeremy Strong, Downton Abbey actress Michelle Dockery, Charlie Hunnam and Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians), McConaughey's predicament could've been instigated by any one of them.

Meanwhile, Ritchie's next released film – set to float into cinemas May 24, 2019 – is a live-action version of classic Disney adventure Aladdin.

The Sultan actor David Negahban has assured fans that the film will "honour and respect" the culture of Aladdin's setting and characters.

"He [Ritchie] was trying to stay as truthful as possible to the story, and at the same time, honour and respect the culture and the background of each of the characters. He has his own sense of humour," he told Digital Spy.

"And it will be something that I think everyone would identify themselves with one of the characters in the movie. It's more real. You can feel it, you can touch it."

Toff Guys' release date is currently unknown.
