McDonald's launches limited edition menu with four new items to celebrate turning 50

Big birthdays call for grand celebrations, don't they?

We're talking balloons, cake - the full works.

McDonald's is doing exactly that as it marks its 50th birthday in the UK. To coincide with the day, the fast-food chain will introduce a limited-edition food menu.

The menu will include three brand-new desserts, a new cheesy side and a selection of iconic items making a comeback.

The limited-edition menu will be available across the UK from July 17. The countdown has begun so remember to note it down in your diary, reports the Express.

So, what's on McDonald's limited-edition menu?

The Birthday Cake Donut.

What better way to say 'Happy Birthday' than with a ring doughnut filled with strawberry-flavoured filling, topped with buttercream-flavoured icing and sprinkles?

McDonald's will donate 20p from each Birthday Cake Donut sale to Ronald McDonald House Charities UK, which is also celebrating its 35th birthday this year. This item will be added to the McCafe menu.

Milkybar Raspberry Ripple McFlurry.

This McFlurry features soft dairy ice cream swirled with mini Milkybar chocolate drops and topped with a tangy raspberry sauce.

Munchies Cookie Dough McFlurry.

But that's not all for the McFlurry enthusiasts. This second item consists of soft dairy ice cream swirled with chocolate-coated Munchies biscuit pieces and topped with a caramel cookie dough sauce.

Cheesy Garlic Bread Dippers.

A savoury delight is making its debut on the menu, featuring four mozzarella dippers flavoured with garlic and chives in a ciabatta-style breadcrumb coating, served with a rich tomato dip. It's also available in a Sharebox.

Double Big Mac.

Making a comeback to the menu are the Double Big Mac and Double Big Mac with Bacon. No birthday celebration would be complete without a Big Mac on the menu.

These fan favourites will be returning, boasting four 100 percent beef patties, a slice of cheese, lettuce, onion, and pickles, all topped off with the delicious Big Mac sauce.

The McCrispy barbecue Smokehouse is making its first reappearance since October 2023. This burger consists of a 100 percent chicken breast fillet in a crispy, crunchy coating, smoky barbecue sauce, cheddar cheese, red onion, and lettuce, all nestled within a tasty sourdough-style sesame bun.

Chicken Sharebox.

Last but certainly not least, the McDonald's Chicken Sharebox will remain on the menu. It includes six Chicken Selects, 12 Chicken McNuggets, along with two McNuggets dips and two Selects dips.

For those who favour Chicken Selects, fear not, the nine Chicken Selects Sharebox with three Selects Dips will also be staying.
