McFly Return To The Stage For First Gig In Three Years

It has been a long time coming but last night McFly finally returned to the stage as a foursome for the first time in three years.

And, if we’re being honest, it feels as though they have never been away.

Earlier this year our favourite long-running band announced they were embarking on an ‘Anthology’ tour across London, Glasgow, Birmingham and Manchester, with the band playing three nights in each city and each night featuring an entirely different setlist as they play through their entire back catalogue of music.

After postponing the show for a few months after drummer Harry Judd sustained an injury, the foursome kicked off the tour last night in Manchester as they blasted their way through their debut album 'Room On The 3rd Floor’.

Which means that the lucky audience got to sing and dance along to hits such as 'That Girl’, 'Obviously’, and '5 Colours In Her Hair’.

After so long away the boys were in good spirits, with bassist Dougie Poynter joking that he’d already made mistakes just three songs into the set, quipping: “I’m sweaty and unprepared.”

The band’s encore consisted of their most recent hits; 'Love Is On The Radio’ and 'Love Is Easy’ alongside classic 'The Heart Never Lies’.

McFly went on a brief hiatus after they teamed up with Busted’s James Bourne and Matt Willis to form 'McBusted’, enjoying two successful tours as a six-piece group.

And as much as we loved McBusted, we have to admit that it is good to have the original McFly boys back on stage where they belong.
