Medical issues leave Sunbury mom worried she can't give daughters the Christmas they deserve

Dec. 13—SUNBURY — Ashley's daughters have helped her out a lot this year.

The 35-year-old lives in Sunbury with her husband and three daughters, ages 15, 12 and 7. She is unable to work due to several hospital stays and medical issues. In September, she was hospitalized for two weeks and ended up getting injured while she was there. Because of this, Ashley worried she won't be able to give her girls much for Christmas.

"I just want to give them what they deserve," she said. "My oldest helps change my bandages and even my 7-year-old wants to help whenever she can."

She's hoping the Here. For Good. Campaign can help for the holiday.

Ashley said her youngest likes Barbies and LOL Surprise Dolls, while her older two like makeup.

"My 12-year-old asked for a vanity, and I'm trying to get her one but I don't think I'll be able to afford it," she said.

The Here. For Good. Campaign is a continuation of the Needy Family Fund which has raised more than $3.45 million since 1987 during the holiday season to help the Valley's families. This year's goal is $250,000.

Today's total is $102,898.31.
