Tyson Fury faces the toughest test of his career when he takes on Oleksandr Usyk on May 18.

The Gypsy King and his Ukrainian rival will put it all on the line in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with the aim of becoming the first undisputed champion of the heavyweight boxing division since Lennox Lewis achieved the feat in 1999. But Fury would not have been alone in his preparations, boasting a small team of close friends who work behind the scenes to get him ready for each monumental showdown.

Episode 3 of Fury Uncovered saw the 35-year-old's backroom staff shed light on their intricate roles, ranging from suit-fitting to strength and conditioning work. And they each explained how they have helped Fury ahead of next Saturday's long-awaited bout.

Isaac Lowe - Boxer

Fury’s closest friend is fellow boxer Lowe. The featherweight met Tyson aged 'eight or nine', having grown up in the same area. Fury later acted as the best man at Lowe's wedding.

The Westgate Warrior said: "Growing up, he always used to have me attached to him more than anyone else, and we've never been apart since. We've been everywhere together, we're always in each other's training camps, helping each other out here, there and everywhere.

"The thing is, we're loyal to each other, we tell each other the truth, we don't tell each other no lies, we always give 100, 120 percent, and we're pushing each other on all the time."

Nav Salimian - Stylist, Designer and Digital Manager

Salimian is behind every colourful and eye-catching outfit that the Gypsy King has worn in his pulsating press conferences. Tailor Navid - known as Nav - become the Mancunian’s stylist just before he won his first titles against Wladimir Klitschko.

He said: “The story begins back in 2014 when I initially took my first suit to Tyson’s house before the Klitschko campaign. From there, we’ve been designing some of Tyson’s suits and the wild outfits you see.

“We are trying to make a statement as Tyson’s personality shines through all the garments we make and it’s become an essential part of every promotion.”

Over time, Nav has also taken over Fury’s social media channels to allow the heavyweight to remain laser focused on his battles ahead. The stylist added: “He needs a team behind him to make that machine work.”

Kristian Blacklock - Strength and Conditioning Coach

Fight camp usually starts with world-renowned S&C coach Blacklock going up to Morecambe with Fury and getting the boxer as strong as possible, training three times a week. Blacklock’s role is to help build base strength ahead of the gruelling intensity of fight camp by lifting heavy weights for low reps.

He said: “Tyson is really professional. When he wants to be disciplined, during fight camps, he doesn’t do anything he isn’t supposed to do.”

Matt Towey - Sports Massage Therapist

Over the course of his career, Fury has started to take recovery and injury prevention more seriously. Towey, who worked for two years with Salford City FC previously, has implemented ice baths, saunas and pool recovery in the WBC champion’s regime.

SugarHill Steward - Trainer

Having met each other in 2010, Steward replaced Ben Davison as Fury’s coach ahead of the rematch with Deontay Wilder in February 2020. The former Detroit policeman is the nephew of legendary Hall of Fame trainer Emmanuel Steward.

Al Foran - Comedian Impressionist

Comedian Foran adds a more light-hearted touch to the Fury camp thanks to his stunning array of impressions, which range from Joe Pesci, Donald Trump, Mike Tyson and even the boxer’s own father John Fury.

The Irishman, who boasts 120,000 Instagram followers, said: “All of us being there with him, we lift him in a sense and he lifts us.”
