Megan Barton Hanson will 'not apologise' to Vanessa Bauer as Wes Nelson says feud is 'sorted'

Dancing on Ice star Wes Nelson has said that his girlfriend Megan Barton Hanson is “not apologising” to pro skater Vanessa Bauer after accusing her of making a “tactical” break-up announcement.

The former Love Island contestant also confirmed that Barton Hanson and Bauer’s feud has “concluded,” with both parties “happy” after speaking to each other.

“It’s a lot of pressure for Megs. It’s concluded. They’ve spoken to each other. They’re happy,” the 20-year-old told Heart Breakfast this morning.

“I don’t even know what they spoke about, I just let women get on with their women talk.”

The reality star, who landed a top score on the ITV show last weekend, said that the past few days had been “difficult” due to “the amount of negative press” following Barton Hanson’s outburst.

“Meg has suffered a lot,” he said. “She has come to support me, cheer me on, and then got absolutely nailed for doing it.

“The outburst with Vanessa, that was the result of a lot of negative press.

“She has said ‘I wish I had privately messaged her.’ She’s not apologising for it. It’s how she feels. I’m not going to argue with it. I’m going to back my girlfriend.

“I don’t want to mess anything with the show or with my girlfriend. We understand what’s going on. They’ve spoken, we’ve sorted it.”

After criticising Bauer for announcing her split from Louis Nathaniel shortly before Nelson’s first performance, Barton Hanson said that “a little introduction from Vanessa would have gone a long way.

“She knows questions are going to be asked about her and Wes and me being worried about them spending time together,” she told The Sun.

“I don’t want to be a possessive girlfriend. I want her to reach out to me.

“I’m not jealous, it is just a lack of respect. I was pushed over the edge.”

Dancing on Ice is on ITV, Sunday at 6pm
