Megan McKenna has addressed rumours that she is being lined up for the celebrity version of The X Factor this year.

The format of the show is undergoing an overhaul for 2019, as instead of a regular series, Simon Cowell is hoping to launch back-to-back celebrity and all-stars series.

McKenna, who has enjoyed success as a country music singer recently and has released her debut studio album Story of Me, is one of the names speculated to be signing up.

Asked about the rumours on Loose Women, the former TOWIE star didn't say much – claiming that she hasn't heard anything from the show.

"I'd seen [the rumours] as well," she said. "I mean, I love that show. But I don't know anything about that. But I do love that show, it's amazing."

McKenna said that singing was always her passion and she's grateful for having the opportunity to make that dream a reality.

"Since I was little, I've always done auditions, I went to theatre school," she said. "That is what I wanted. I love doing TV, but this is my dream and I'm not going to stop until I get there.

"I don't regret everything, the TV shows I've done. It's all part of me. It's always a story, and with country music, you've got to have a story.

"I feel like every TV show I've done, I've kind of tried to sing on it as much as I can. On TOWIE, I did some singing things, on Big Brother I did singing things."

Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV.
