Megan Thee Stallion has spoken out about being shot last Sunday (12 July).

The “Savage” singer, 25, confirmed this week that she had to undergo surgery after being shot in the foot following a Hollywood Hills party she attended with Tory Lanez and Kylie Jenner.

On Wednesday (15 July), the rapper – whose real name is Megan Jovon Ruth Pete – revealed: "On Sunday morning, I suffered gunshot wounds, as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me."

Setting the record straight after inaccurate reporting of the incident, she added: "I was never arrested, the police officers drove me to the hospital where I underwent surgery to remove the bullets."

Then, in a tweet on Friday (17 July), she wrote: "Black women are so unprotected & we hold so many things in to protect the feelings of others w/o considering our own.

"It might be funny to y’all on the internet and just another messy topic for you to talk about but this is my real life and I’m real life hurt and traumatised.”

The Los Angeles Police Department said rapper Tory Lanez was arrested last weekend on a weapons charge. Lanez was with Pete at the time.
