Meghan Markle’s ex-husband is producing a TV show about divorce and the Royal Family

Meghan Markle’s ex-husband has caused waves after it emerged he will be producing a TV show with a plot about a divorced couple and the British Royal Family.

The show, which will be a comedy, is about a man who has to share the custody of his child with the British family after the main character’s ex-wife marries a British prince.

Ms Markle and Prince Harry have been in a relationship for a year.

The show is fictional, the lead characters are reportedly not based on either Markle or her ex-husband Trevor Engelson, who have no children, and she has had no hand in the production, according to a Deadline exclusive.

But the idea for the programme was inspired by real events. It reportedly came to life following a conversation that Mr Engelson had with Dan Farrah (producer of The Shannara Chronicles).

They had spoken about what it would be like, if Mr Engelson and Ms Markle had children, and he had to share custody with the British Royal Family.

The duo decided the premise was a great idea for a show and eventually pitched the TV series to WME.

Fox eventually bought the comedy, and has reportedly made a “big commitment” to a pilot episode.

Danny Zucker, who was an executive producer for Modern Family, was brought on to write the upcoming show, and Jake Kasdan and Christine Gernon will be directors.

Mr Engleson, who is 40-years-old, had been married to Ms Markle, 36, from 2011 to 2013 before they split up.
