Ever since the announcement of the royal engagement back in November, all eyes have been on Prince Harry’s fiancée, Meghan Markle - and her very stylish wardrobe.

The 36-year-old has already proved she has just as much of a influence in the fashion department as her soon to be sister-in-law, Kate Middleton.

In recent months she has caused British handbag brand Strathberry to sell out within seconds, earnt a small London sunglass label £20,000 overnight and may already be surpassing the 'Kate effect'.

Although the two future relatives have very different personal styles, they do share one similarity: a love of affordable pieces.

On Saturday, Meghan Markle stepped out with her soon-to-be husband to attend a reception for the forthcoming Invictus Games. For the occasion, Markle ditched her signature all-black ensembles for a pop of print, wearing a striking floral green dress.

The elegant design featuring feminine ruffle detail, a flowing skirt and trendy open-shoulder retailing for just £300 by Self-Portrait.

The British brand launched in 2013 and has become known for its reasonably priced evening dresses, which often feature feminine frills and intricate lace detail.

Plus, Meghan isn't the only one at Kensington Palace who is a fan of the luxe-looking label, as The Duchess of Cambridge has also sported its stylish frocks.

The 36-year-old wore a £320 pleated crochet maxi dress by the high street label to the London premiere of A Street Cat Named Bob back in 2016.

This also wouldn't be the first time Markle has been spotted in the brand.

The Suits star wore a chic monochrome dress with sheer detail and a full-A-line skirt to the Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace last year.

Furthermore, her love for the brand can be traced back to her acting days, as she wore a powder blue number to the Glamour Women Of The Year Awards in 2016.

Kate and Meghan do, on occasion, wear similar outfits, only a few months back a pregnant Kate stepped out in a Diane von Furstenberg dress, which Meghan had worn a few years prior.
