On September 25, 2017 Prince Harry and his then rumoured girlfriend, Meghan Markle, made their first public appearance at the Invictus Games in Toronto.

Fast forward 12 months to the day and the now married Duchess of Sussex made a debut of her own: her first solo visit.

The former-actress showed her love of the arts as she arrived at the Royal Academy in London to open its Oceania exhibition, marking 250 years since Captain James Cook set sail to the Pacific, as well as the Royal Academy's 250th anniversary.

For the occasion, Meghan, once again, called upon Clare Waight Keller, Artistic Director of Givenchy, and the woman behind Meghan's historic royal wedding dress.

In contrast to her striking white wedding gown, Meghan's ensemble stuck to darker hues, the designer dress boasting a mixture of materials from mesh sleeves to velvet detail - a fitting sophisticated silhouette for the evening event.

As usual, Meghan accessorised with matching accessories, choosing an understated clutch bag, again by Givenchy.

She did, however, take a note out of the Duchess of Cambridge's book, re-wearing a pair of Aquazzura heels, which she first wore to the Queen’s Young Leaders award ceremony in June.

For the second time this week, Meghan also kept her hair poker straight, a hairstyle that is quickly taking over from her signature messy bun.
