Meghan Trainor and Jimmy Fallon Perform Holiday Duet 'Wrap Me Up' for First Time on “Jimmy Kimmel Live”

"We FaceTimed with each other and wrote the song in an hour and a half," detailed Fallon in a recent Instagram video

It's a talk show host crossover — with Meghan Trainor in the mix!

The Grammy-winning pop star and Jimmy Fallon teamed up for the debut performance of their new Christmas duet "Wrap Me Up" on Monday's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Trainor, 29, sported an ultra-festive bright red dress adorned with photos of her and husband Daryl Sabara's sons Riley, 2½, and Barry, 4 months, as well as a Christmas tree, hearts and snowflakes. Fallon, 49, complemented her look with a red velvet suit.

The pair performed their comedic holiday song alongside several festively-dressed backup singers and a set filled with faux Christmas trees and wrapped presents — a nod to the "Wrap Me Up" lyrics comparing a loved one's presence to a gift.

"Come on and wrap me up / Wrap me up, baby / Give me the nice list / I know you've been waiting / Yeah, I’m a nice gift / And I know how to shake it," sings Trainor on the track's chorus.

Throughout the song, the two vocalists sing flirtatious call-and-response lyrics, with Fallon wanting to know what he'll receive for Christmas and Trainor cheekily not wanting to tell him.

"Is it a drone? No / A new razor? Nuh-uh / Is it a fancy manscaper with the laser? Uh-uh / A Maserati? Bugatti? No / Man, I thought I had it / Oh no, baby, you’re looking at it," they sing in the pre-chorus.

Following the release of "Wrap Me Up" earlier this month, Fallon posted to Instagram on Monday and shared a video of himself explaining how the duet came to be.

"Meghan Trainor has been a great friend of our show and a great friend of mine, and we all remember her falling at one point, and I laid down next to her on the show," said the comedian, recalling when the singer fell during her 2016 performance of her single "Me Too" on The Tonight Show.

"But she's a great sport, and I loved her even before then, but I just love that she went with it," added Fallon, reflecting on the viral moment. "I go, 'Do you want to do it again?' She goes, 'No. I want you to keep that in and just show everybody that I'm not perfect,' and I just love that."

The former SNL star continued, "We always wanted to do something together, and I go, 'I kind of have this idea called "Wrap It Up," like wrapping up a Christmas present.'"

Fallon then played the self-described "embarrassing" first recording he sent Trainor, which finds him mumbling through a melody with the lyrics, "Wrap it up."

"I did not hear back immediately, believe it or not," he quipped. "She eventually got back to me and goes, 'Jimmy, I like the idea, but here's kind of what I was working on.'"

He recalled the idea Trainor sent back, which closer resembles the final track. "We FaceTimed with each other and wrote the song in an hour and a half," said Fallon. "I think it turned out to be a really great song. I love it, so please enjoy it."
