Mel C turns down Strictly Come Dancing every year because the pay is 's***'

Strictly Come Dancing tends to be the show that every celebrity wants to get involved in; it has a good reputation and attracts the stars that wouldn’t even consider competing in similar shows such as Celebrity Big Brother or I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

However, there is one celeb who the Beeb just can’t quite get their hands on, with former Spice Girl, Mel C, admitting that she turns the show down “every year” because the pay is “s***”.

Ouch.

Admitting that Strictly is the only reality show that she could ever imagine doing, Mel told the Daily Star: “‘Strictly’ is really the only one of those shows that I would consider and I have had a meeting with them – they ask me every year to do it.

“The problem is if you do ‘Strictly’ it’s so high profile and you’ll find yourself in the sidebar of shame every day. And the money’s s***!”

Strictly producers might want to make a note of that for next year…

If she were to take part, Mel C would be the first Spice Girl to compete in the UK version of the show, with her former bandmate, Mel B, previously taking part in the US version, ‘Dancing With The Stars’, way back in 2007.

Mel B made it to the final three and was praised by judges, with Bruno Tonioli – who judges on both shows – telling the star: “Melanie, I cannot believe what an accomplished dancer you have become in these past few months. Technically you have improved incredibly and your visual impact.

“I tell you, stunning.”

We don’t know about you, but we’re definitely going to keep our fingers crossed for a Spice Girls’ contestant next year.
