This is the moment that two men took selfies with a homeless man before allegedly attempting to set his belongings on fire.

In the footage, one of the men is seen sitting down at a train station bench in Munich before putting his arm around the homeless man, who is passed out on a train station bench, while his friend proceeds to take photos.

According to German media, the two men took selfies with the 51-year-old homeless man before setting his belongings alight with a cigarette.

Police say that one of the men used a cigarette to set fire to a plastic bag which was used by the homeless men to carry his belongings before they both fled on a train.

Potential tragedy was eventually averted when three passers by noticed the burning man, with two of them pulling it away from the man while another called the emergency services.

Police have since confirmed the arrest of two suspects in connection with the incident.

A 25-year-old man of no fixed address handed himself into police on Sunday, while a 29-year-old was arrested at work in Munich.

Both men, who are reportedly Italian nationals, confessed their actions to police and claimed they were ‘just having some fun’.

They now face charges of attempted grievous bodily harm.
