Mesmerizing Ice Circle Forms in Michigan River

Gladwin, Michigan, has been hit with some pretty cold temperatures recently, allowing a spinning ice circle to form on the Cedar River on January 21.

Mary Juneac said her husband was on a walk in the area when he saw the rotating disc, so she decided to take out her phone and go film it! Some scientists speculate that these disks form and spin due to temperature changes in the water below.

It has created quite the spectacle for Gladwin residents during an otherwise frigid weekend.

A similar disk was spotted in Westbrook, Maine, the previous week. Credit: Mary M Juneac via Storyful
