A mix of showers and sunshine are forecast in Greater Manchester today.

After a wet start to the day in our region, cloudier conditions are forecast to set in later this morning. Heavy downpours are then forecast in the early afternoon.

Met Office forecasters predict Greater Manchester will then have sunny intervals from the early evening. Maximum temperatures of around 12C are expected.

"A milder but rather cloudy start with a few showers through the morning", forecasters said on Friday's forecast. "Turning drier into the afternoon with sunnier spells developing, these becoming more prolonged later.

"A brisk north-westerly wind with temperatures around average." Forecasters predict there will be a chilly start to the day on Saturday with some possible frost.

A dry day is forecast with some sunny and cloudy spells. The mercury will reach highs of around 13C.

Sunday is set to be a mainly cloudy day with some patchy rain showers. Average temperatures of around 12C are forecast during the afternoon.
