Hail risk as weather warning issued for Herefordshire today
HAIL could fall in Herefordshire today as a new weather warning is issued for the county.
The Met Office yellow warning for thunderstorms is set to come into force in the county at noon today and will remain in place until midnight.

Forecasters at the Met Office said that, while some areas will remain dry, thunderstorms are likely to develop this afternoon and evening from the east and move relatively slowly westwards or northwestwards.

Heavy rain accompanied by frequent lightning is likely where thunderstorms occur, with up to 25 to 30 millimetres of rain possibly in one or two hours in a few places, while as much as 50 millimetres could fall in some spots.
There may also be hail in some places, the Met Office said.
Forecasters warned that the thunderstorms developing across the warning area this afternoon and evening may lead to travel disruption and some flooding.
