Penned by Broadchurch creator and former Doctor Who showrunner Chris Chibnall, The Seven Dials Mystery is executive produced by The Crown‘s Suzanne Mackie through her company Orchid Pictures and Chris Sussman (Good Omens). Chris Sweeney (The Tourist, Back to Life) directs.

At a lavish country house party in 1925, a practical joke appears to have gone horribly, murderously wrong. Bundle sets out to unravel a chilling plot that will change her life.

McKenna-Bruce said: “Chris Chibnall’s scripts are brilliant, and I am thrilled to be part of this new interpretation of the iconic Agatha Christie’s storytelling.”

The Seven Dials Mystery is the first series to go into production with Orchid Pictures and will begin filming this summer.

It’s not the only Christie project in the works. On Wednesday, it was announced that Anjelica Huston and Oliver Jackson-Cohen will lead an adaptation of her novel Towards Zero by the BBC and Britbox International.

The three-part series also stars Ella Lily Hyland (Five and a Half Love Stories in an Apartment in Vilnius, Lithuania), Huston (Prizzi’s Honor, The Addams Family) and Mimi Keene (Sex Education). Sam Yates (Magpie) is directing, and filming is now underway in and around Bristol and on the Devon coast.
