We're being honest here – we're not quite sure what to take away from this trailer for Michael Caine's new movie Dear Dictator.

The screen legend plays an ousted "loveable" Castro-like communist leader who forms a friendship with a teenage girl. Yes, someone pitched that.

In the clip, we see high-schooler Tatiana (Odeya Rush) write letters to her idol, Caine's British-Caribbean dictator General Anton Vincent.

When the despot is overthrown in a coup, he retreats to Tatiana's home, where she lives with her single mother (Katie Holmes).

"He's not a creepy child molester, he's a dictator," she tells her mum at one point as the dictator holds her down on a bed.

Vincent tries to blend in with some questionable outfits, while teaching the teenager to start her own school revolution and take down the popular kids.

And while he cruelly "milk-boards" Tatiana's social studies teacher, we are assured his "heart is in the right place". N'aww, what a loveable guy.

The movie, which is written and directed by Lisa Addario and Joe Syracuse (Amateur Night), also stars Jason Biggs and Seth Green.

So yeah, make of that what you will.

Oh, and the movie is straight-to-DVD/Digital Download rather than in cinemas, which is never a good sign. We suppose all actors have bills to pay.
