The wife of Environment Secretary Michael Gove claims she was groped by an official inside 10 Downing Street.

Sarah Vine, 50, said she had a similar experience to ITV producer Daisy Goodwin, who yesterday claimed she was groped by a Government official inside the Prime Minister’s residence.

Mrs Vine said she called out the unidentified man for his actions, saying there was “no better way of discouraging such schoolboy enthusiasms”.

She wrote in her Daily Mail column: “It certainly worked for me a few years ago when I had a similar experience, also in Number 10 – albeit not, as far as I know, with the same person.”

Mrs Vine added: ”The only time Oscar Wilde’s Lady B has ever failed me was when a famous Sixties photographer put his hand up my skirt at a party.

“I gave him a firm slap on the wrist, but he just grinned and shrugged his shoulders in a ‘don’t try, don’t get’ sort of way.”

Victoria creator Daisy Goodwin said she was groped on the breast by a Government official who told her she looked like a Bond girl while she visited Downing Street.

She told the Radio Times: “At the end of the meeting we stood up and the official, to my astonishment, put his hand on my breast.

“I looked at the hand and then in my best Lady Bracknell voice said, ‘Are you actually touching my breast?’.

“He dropped his hand and laughed nervously. I swept out … I wasn’t traumatised, I was cross.”

The claims are the latest to rock Westminster as politics is hit by a sexual harassment scandal.

Sir Michael Fallon resigned as Defence Secretary over allegations about his conduct with women, while international trade minister Mark Garnier faces inquiries over claims of inappropriate conduct.
