Michelle Heaton shares moving throwback pictures after 14 months of sobriety

Michelle Heaton has shared moving throwback photos of her looking red-faced and exhausted as she celebrates 14 months of sobriety, saying when she looks at the snaps she sees "fear, sadness, confusion, pain".

The Liberty X star battled substance abuse problems for years, and previously revealed she used to buy vodka instead of doing the school run and that at one point she was warned she could die if she didn't do something.

However, she is now sober after a stint in rehab last year.

Sharing the old photos on Instagram, the 42-year-old told her fans: "I continue to share my story because by sharing I might just help the still suffering addict!

"I’m just over 14 months, looking back at this person, I see fear, sadness, confusion, pain, and as that month went on I see hope, light, fight, and a desire to live."

She went on: "Whether you are the addict or a loved one of the addict, there is hope!

"If I can do it so can you!

"I follow a 12 step program, regularly attend my meetings and help others to achieve sobriety like I have.

"I have a life now I could never have imagined, a life without fear!"

"Drop a message of your journey!" said the star. "Let’s all help each other."

Mum-of-two Heaton went to rehab at The Priory last year and has previously revealed that it was the turning point for her.

Speaking on the One For The Road podcast last year, she said: "I remember being absolutely done for maybe a couple of months.

"But the absolute 'done, done' was probably a week in The Priory."
