Michigan Police Officer Chases 'Runaway' Portable Toilet

Police in New Buffalo, Michigan, gave chase to a different type of suspect on Thursday, August 17, when strong winds blew a portable toilet across a lakefront parking lot.

Dashcam footage released by the New Buffalo City Police Department shows what the department described as a “quick pursuit” of a “runaway” portable toilet.

The structure can be seen being whisked across a parking lot by the wind before the cruisercatches up to it.

The dashcam shows the chase reached speeds of 16 miles per hour.

“Tonight one of our officers had a quick pursuit with a runaway porta-potty. Luckily he was able to apprehend the suspect before things became messy,” the New Buffalo City Police Department wrote.

Commenters were quick to see the funny side of the incident, with one writing: “Nice job on preventing what could’ve been a crappy situation.” Credit: New Buffalo City Police Department – Michigan via Storyful
