This Is Us star Milo Ventimiglia has reacted to the show being snubbed from the Golden Globes, admitting "it's the way that it is".

The NBC drama noticeably scored no nominations in this year's list (released last week), notably after scoring three nominations last year and a win for star Sterling K Brown.

However, Ventimiglia responded to the lack of Golden Globes love in a new interview, and didn’t seem too fazed.

"It’s the way that it is," Ventimiglia told Variety. "What matters most to me is how happy my crew is filming, how satisfied our bosses are, and the conversations that continue to happen from the audience.

"That’s what matters the most to me. Being recognized by larger groups is great, but I don’t hang my hat on it."

He added: "I’ve never been one to look forward to awards or nominations because I think ultimately it diminishes a lot of hard work of people that aren’t in the categories of awards, so for me, it’s like, it doesn’t really matter.

"If someone walks up and says, 'Hey I love the show, or I love your movie, or I love your work,' great. That’s what means the most to me."

While This Is Us may have missed out, a number of other shows scored big in this year's Golden Globe nominations, with The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story scoring the most out of the TV side of things.

Killing Eve, Bodyguard, A Very English Scandal and The Good Place also racked up a few nominations apiece too.

This Is Us airs on NBC in the US and on More4 in the UK.
