Mindful Movement: meet the personal trainer helping to connect the dots between physical and mental health

Chevy Rough is a personal trainer with a difference – he combines mindfulness with fitness.

The 36-year-old performance and mindfulness coach promotes the importance of training mindfully rather than the usual intense workout many people try and squeeze into their day.

Having spent 16 years working in the city, suffering from depression and a regular substance abuse habit, he decided to change his path completely and set up a movement group called Chasing Lights Collective.

The group of runners combine training with working alongside the local community, to pass on the benefits of their coming together.

This weekend, Chevy will be leading a talk on his holistic approach to exercise at the lululemon Sweatlife Festival, which takes place on Saturday July 22 at the Tobacco Dock in east London.

He works as an ambassador for the brand which promotes using meditation alongside training to ensure a better mental state.
