'Minor injury' crash caused 60 minute delays and five-mile queues on M6

Police have confirmed a person suffered a 'minor' injury following a crash in Lancashire yesterday (June 23).

Traffic was stopped on the M6 southbound near Preston between J32 (M55) and J31A (Preston) due to a crash at 7pm yesterday.

National Highways says traffic was released shortly after though two of the four lanes remained closed while emergency services continued to work at the scene.

Delays reached up to one hour while congestion while queues were backed up for around five miles.

Recovery vehicles were also on the scene before the incident cleared at around 9.30pm.

When approached for further details, Lancashire Police said it was a 'minor injury' crash.

North West Ambulance Service have also been contacted for further details.
