Jay Slater's mother is tormented by the possibility that her son was "bundled off somewhere" after he vanished in Tenerife.

The 19 year old from Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, has been out of contact for almost a week. Jay last reached out to a friend on Monday, sharing his intention to embark on an 11-hour trek back to his lodgings.

With no word since, his loved ones are increasingly concerned for his safety, suspecting he might have been taken from the Spanish holiday spot.

Debbie Duncan, Jay's mother, has been waiting anxiously for news since he left a rave with two British men for a remote AirBnB an hour's drive away. Despite extensive searches involving helicopters and sniffer dogs, there's been no sign of Jay.

In an emotional appeal to the Daily Mail, Ms Duncan expressed her desperation and confusion over her son's fate. Tearfully, she implored: "I'm all over the place and I'm trying to keep positive, has somebody taken him? Is he panicked and lost in the mountains? I just don't know, that's why if anyone has any information please just tell us.", reports the Mirror.

While grappling with the unknown, Ms Duncan admitted her fear that Jay's disappearance is more sinister than him simply being lost. She reasoned: "But if he is lost then why hasn't anyone seen him? It's busy with hikers and holidaymakers up there so if he was lost then someone would have seen him, so that's why I think maybe he's been bundled off somewhere."

Ms Duncan has joined the growing number of Jay's friends and family who fear he may have been abducted. Lucy Mae, a friend Jay contacted at about 8.50am on Monday, expressed increasing concern, telling the Mail: "At first I wasn't so sure but now I'm convinced. He is not stupid - if he left the house on his own he would have walked to the road and then tried to flag a car down or stop someone for help."

She continued, highlighting the urgency of the situation: "The more time passes and he has not been seen then the more we are convinced he has been taken by someone and is being held against his will."

A search operation involving locals, authorities, and Jay's loved ones has been ongoing for four days. The teenager was last spotted in the Rural de Teno park, a favoured spot among hikers, dressed in a white T-shirt, shorts, and trainers.
