Mitcham pub fire video shows inferno engulfing listed building as photo shows aftermath

A video of the fire at a pub in Mitcham that engulfed the listed building shows the scale of the inferno. Twelve fire engines and around 80 firefighters rushed to the Burn Bullock pub on London Road to quell the blaze on Friday (April 19). A photo taken in the aftermath shows the pub is now a blackened shell that's half destroyed.

A statement from the London Fire Brigade (LFB) said that half of the ground, first and second floors of the building were damaged by fire and the roof was destroyed. LFB was called to the blaze at 7.29pm and had it under control by 10.18pm.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. It has not been said that anyone was injured by the fire either, but the pub has been closed for several years.

The full statement from the LFB reads: "Twelve fire engines and around 80 firefighters tackled a fire at a derelict pub on London Road in Mitcham. Half of the ground, first and second floors of the building were damaged by fire and the roof was destroyed. Four men were assessed on scene by London Ambulance Service crews.

"Two of the Brigade's 32-metre turntable ladders were used at the scene as water towers. Two gas cylinders were removed from the property as a precaution as some cylinders can explode when exposed to heat.
