‘Mo’ Season 2 Adds Simon Rex and Johanna Braddy to Cast (EXCLUSIVE)

Simon Rex and Johanna Braddy have joined the Season 2 cast of Netflix’s “Mo” as recurring guest stars.

Rex will play Guy, who is described as “a hot new chef in Houston’s vibrant culinary scene and Mo’s romantic rival.” Braddy will play Austin, “a vivacious and slightly unhinged Texan and the sister-in-law to Mo’s good friend Hameed (Moayad Alnefaie).”

In addition to Alnefaie as Hameed, Season 2 will feature returning guest stars Tobe Nwigwe as Nick, Kamal Zayed as Nazeer, Walt Roberts as Buddy and Lee Meredith Eddy as Lizzie.

“Mo” stars series creator Mo Amer as Mo Najjar, an undocumented Palestinian refugee living in Houston and trying to secure U.S. citizenship for himself and his family — including his resilient and spiritual mother (Farah Bsieso), sister (Cherien Dabis) and older brother (Omar Elba). Teresa Ruiz also stars as Maria, Mo’s girlfriend.

After first becoming known as an MTV VJ and appearing in the “Scary Movie” franchise, Rex’s breakthrough role came in Sean Baker’s 2021 film “Red Rocket,” in which he starred as retired porn star Mikey “Saber” Davies. His more recent credits including the films “Mack & Rita” (2022), “Down Low” (2023) and “The Sweet East” (2023). Later this year, he will be seen opposite Channing Tatum and Naomi Ackie in Zoe Kravitz’s directorial debut “Blink Twice” and opposite Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Lily James in “Greedy People” via Lionsgate. Other upcoming credits include “Easy Waltz” starring Vince Vaughn and Al Pacino, “Americana” starring Sydney Sweeney and Paul Walter Hauser, “Tow” starring Rose Byrne and Octavia Spencer and “Everything’s Going to Be Great” starring Bryan Cranston and Allison Janney. He is repped by Buchwald, Range Media Partners and Narrative.

Braddy is best known for starring as FBI agent Shelby Wyatt in “Quantico,” which ran on ABC for three seasons from 2015 to 2018. In 2009, she led the horror film “The Grudge 3” as Lisa. Braddy’s other prominent credits include the films “Hurt” (2009), “Easy A” (2010) and “Paranormal Activity 3.” In TV, she has starred in Lifetime’s “Unreal” and held recurring roles in NBC’s “Chicago Med,” Max’s “Gossip Girl” and ABC’s “A Million Little Things.” Braddy also voiced Princess Yue in Nickelodeon’s “Avatar: The Last Airbender.” She is repped by Circle and Myman Greenspan Fox Rosenberg Mobasser Younger & Light.
