Liverpool face an intriguing summer as they continue to prepare for life after Jurgen Klopp.

New Reds boss Arne Slot has officially begun work at Anfield with the Dutchman keen to impress as he gets used to his new surroundings. Pre-season training will officially begin in the first week of July, however, those away on international duty at Euro 2024 and the Copa America will get more time off.

And the transfer window will officially open on June 14 as Slot looks towards his first campaign in charge on Merseyside. Below are some of the latest media reports surrounding the Reds...

Salah transfer interest

Turkish giants Galatasaray are interested in Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, it is claimed. The Egyptian has just a year left on his current deal at Anfield, leading to suggestions that the Reds may look to sell him this summer to earn a reasonable transfer fee.

And Turkish journalist Zeki Uzundurukan is claiming that Galatasaray have met with Salah's entourage to discuss a potential transfer. "Galatasaray management is looking for a star," he said on the Transfer Plus YouTube channel, via Milli Gazete.

"Fenerbahce's move by Jose Mourinho and the departure of Erden Timur made them a target. Because they went out of the agenda and could not respond to the opponent. For this reason, they want to transfer a name that will make them forget everything."

The ECHO says: Aged 31 and with just a year left on his contract, the Reds have a key decision to make this summer over Salah's future. The winger demonstrated in 2023/24 that he still has plenty to offer but his form dipped after the African Cup of Nations earlier this year. A good offer may give both Salah and Liverpool something to think about

Defender transfer negotiations

Liverpool defender Sepp van den Berg is reportedly in negotiations with Mainz over a permanent deal this summer. The centre-back has spent the season on loan at the Bundesliga club and it is reported that they want to keep him.

Sky reporter Florian Plettenberg has now claimed that Mainz are confident over a deal with the player himself eager to stay. The Reds rate Van Den Berg in the £20m bracket.

The ECHO says: Van den Berg has never managed to establish himself at Liverpool so his good form in Germany is likely to be music to the Reds' ears. Aged 22, the club may be hoping to get a good offer for the Dutch defender this summer and use the funds to strengthen. That said, the ECHO understands negotiations are at a very, very tentative stage and Mainz are nowhere near the valuation Liverpool have of the player - and more Bundesliga sides are now interested in Van den Berg.
