A woman in Ohio has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from the death of her son, according to court documents reviewed by PEOPLE.

Molly Krebs entered the guilty plea on Sep. 12 to one charge of involuntary manslaughter and one charge of endangering a child in the December 2022 death of her 3-year-old son Jayden Krebs, according to the Sentencing Memorandum submitted by her lawyer to a Hamilton County court.

The county coroner eventually ruled the death as a homicide and attributed it to a “drowning like” incident at their Cincinnati, Ohio home.

Molly, who was 27 at the time of Jayden's death, has said prior to the incident she had a long day of work cleaning houses, and had returned home to host a dinner with guests.

After the guests left, she allegedly gave the child Benadryl because he had an allergic reaction to Nutella, and his face broke out in rashes, the court document states. She put him in the bathtub and left him in the tub for over an hour.

During this time, she cleaned the kitchen and at one point, while sitting down, fell asleep. She would wake up to realize she had left her son in the tub and find him non-responsive.

She was charged with child endangerment and involuntary manslaughter, and was being held for a bail amount of $750,000, according to court documents PEOPLE reviewed.

The memorandum document states she is "remorseful" and "devastated" by her actions, and for how they have impacted Jayden's family, especially his brother.

"She will spend the rest of her life trying to make something good come from this tragic loss," read the memorandum signed by her attorney. "She will make her time spent incarcerated as productive as she can by trying to console other mothers that she may meet who have lost children in similar tragic and unfortunate ways."

In an obituary posted shortly after Jayden’s death, he was remembered for his love for Cocomelon, singing, and being with his cousins.

“He loved animals and reading stories,” the obituary reads. “Jayden always had a smile on his face and his smile was infections; he had the ability to make anyone laugh.”
