Moment woman chases down 'man who groped her on New York subway' as police hunt suspect

This is the moment a brave woman chased a man through a New York subway station after he allegedly groped her on a train.

Police said the suspect grabbed the 26-year-old woman’s rear while she was walking down a staircase inside Grand Central subway station on August 31.

Detectives hunting the suspect have released CCTV footage which shows him strolling through the station when suddenly the woman runs up and shoves him.

She continues to pursue him as he tries to fend her off, before she swings her arm at the back of his head.

The footage shows him then running through the station in a bid to escape her, eventually disappearing through an emergency exit.

New York police said the victim lost sight of the suspect when he fled the station onto 42 Street.

Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea tweeted: "This individual grabbed a 26-year-old female victim's buttocks as she walked down a staircase, when confronted, he fled the station.”

Police described the suspect as aged between 20 and 30, Hispanic and around 5 foot 7 inches tall. He was wearing a green t-shirt and black shorts.
