What a time it is to be a University Challenge fan. Over the current (incredibly long) series, we've seen two titans emerge from among the crowd of well-dressed, slightly monotone contestants: Goldman and Monkman.
Goldman divided viewers with his attitude, appearing annoyed at Paxman reading out entire questions when he clearly knew the answer. Meanwhile, Monkman's enthusiasm was a beacon of hope to viewers who had been worn down by months of socio-political upheaval.
Last week saw Goldman (and some other people on his team whose names we forget) progress past the quarter finals, and tonight (March 27) saw Monkman and his Wolfson College, Cambridge teammates try to get through the first semi-final against Emmanuel College, Cambridge.
But it wasn't going to be easy, as Emmanuel College's team captain was none other than dark horse Seagull (we don't bother with first names when it comes to University Challenge).
We've combed through some of the best tweets, so when future generations look for evidence of this titanic battle, they know just how it went down.

In the end, Monkman and company managed to achieve victory, to the joy of everyone.
All that needs to happen now is for Goldman to progress through the other semi-final and we'll have an epic clash of good and not-really-evil-just-a-bit-snobby hitting our screens. We're not sure we're ready for it, but we still want to see it.
University Challenge will be back next Monday at 8pm.
