Two restaurants in Lancashire and Cumbria have been named among Europe's best restaurants in a prestigious new list.
Opinionated About Dining, the leading source of global restaurant rankings for devout diners, announced their 2024 “Top European Restaurants List” at the Mandarin Oriental Ritz in Madrid yesterday (June 17). Simon Rogan’s L'Enclume, based in Cartmel, was voted the best restaurant in the UK at number 20 by OAD reviewers.
There are 555 restaurants listed in the 2024 Top European Restaurants List with a total of 93 UK restaurants making the list this year. This includes Moor Hall in Aughton which is ranked 48th.

It comes after Moor Hall, which holds 2 Michelin Stars, was named the third best restaurant in the country at the prestigious National Restaurant Awards. The top 100 list also included Solo in Aughton, Parkers Arms in Newton-in-Bowland and Northcote in Langho.
OAD founder Steve Plotnicki presented Chef Rasmus Munk’s Copenhagen-based Alchemist with the number one spot on the list, the 4th time the restaurant has won the accolade since opening in 2019. The Top European Restaurants List celebrates exemplary restaurants across Europe and has been published by Steve Plotnicki OAD since 2012.
More than 6,000 people participate in the reviewing, and a system has been created to determine the experience level of the voters. Each voter is assigned a weight that reflects the number of restaurants the given person has visited and those restaurants’ rank on the OAD list
