More Than 70 Residents Evacuated as Multi-Building Fire Burns in Turin's Historic Center

More than 70 residents were evacuated from their homes after a fire engulfed a roof in the historic center of Turin, Italy, on April 18, with firefighters still on the scene a day later.

Drone footage released by Vigili del Fuoco on Friday shows emergency services battling the flames, with ladder trucks huddled around the five-story building on Via Vanchiglia.

The fire was sparked in an attic, quickly spreading to the roofs of three buildings, La Stampa reported. About 40 people were homeless as a result of the blaze, the outlet said. Credit: Vigili del Fuoco via Storyful
