More than 85 Cars Towed After Illegal Sideshow in Oakland

More than 85 cars were towed, two people were arrested, and two police officers were injured when law enforcement swept in on an illegal car show, known as a “sideshow”, in Oakland, California, in the early hours of September 23, police said.

This aerial footage shot by a California Highway Patrol (CHP) helicopter shows cars doing donuts as hundreds of people watch or film the show in close proximity.

The Oakland Police Department said rocks and bottles were thrown at officers, and gunshots were fired from the crowd. The sideshow took place in the area of 42nd Avenue and Interstate 880, police said. Credit: CHP – Golden Gate Division Air Operations via Storyful
