PM faces Commons backlash over Brexit deal

Theresa May is braced for a furious backlash from Tory Brexiteers as she presents her draft EU divorce deal to the Commons.

The Prime Minister cleared the first hurdle when Cabinet ministers yesterday approved the draft terms of her agreement with Brussels.

But she now faces a battle to get it through Parliament as pro-Leave MPs line up to condemn the plan.

Mrs May has been accused of breaking promises and leaving the UK at the mercy of the EU.

The Queen has paid a rare public tribute to her son Prince Charles, hailing him as a “wonderful father” to William and Harry.

Her touching words came as Charles’ family and friends gathered at Buckingham Palace to celebrate his 70th birthday.

Nearby planets like this are likely to be prime targets in the search for of life in space.

The planet's mass is believed to be more than three times of our own, meaning it is in a category known as "super-Earths".

It orbits Barnard's star - six light-years away.

Give all smokers tobacco dependence treatment, medics demand

The NHS should ensure every smoker it cares for is given tobacco dependence treatment, a group of leading medics have said.

NHS England boss Simon Stevens has been urged to include the proposal for the treatment in the services long-term plan.

Experts say such treatment is one of the most cost-effective healthcare interventions known.
