A surprise change in This Morning's iconic theme tune left viewers stunned after nearly a decade of familiarity.

The beloved daytime show, hosted by Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond, made a comeback with an unexpected twist. The audience was taken aback as the Royal Marines brass band took over the usual opening music with their rendition of the This Morning jingle.

Some viewers at home were unsettled by the new arrangement, taking to X to express their confusion.

One viewer remarked: "When I first heard the theme music this morning I thought I was going mad lol, freaked out for a second."

Another speculated: "Wonder if that's them that were on the stage with Take That," as reported by the Mirror, reports Wales Online.

However, there were those who welcomed the fresh take, commending the military band. One fan said: "Their medals I spot Iraq, Afghan, peacekeeping, Falklands and Kosovo. Brave brave men. I salute you all."

Another simply added: "Good musicians."

The This Morning theme tuned changed on Friday's show

Whether the band will be a permanent addition to the programme remains to be seen, but it seems the impressive ensemble was just a one-off delight.

This update follows the announcement of a new competition set to replace the well-known 'Spin To Win'. The This Morning team shared an excited social media post for fans who might have missed last Thursday's episode.

In the video, Ben excitedly shared: "Now then we've some exciting news to share with you. From next week, get ready to play a brand new competition that's landing right here in the This Morning studio".

Cat joined in, saying: "Take a look at what the board looks like now". They unveiled the brand new "Coin Drop game, where players could win a whopping £20,000. Ben emphasised that this substantial amount could be won every single day.Social media users quickly took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to voice their opinions on the new game. One viewer remarked: "At last, something to replace Spin to Win", while another expressed disappointment: "Ah no I liked spin-to-win.

Not that I ever entered [cry-laughing emoji]". This Morning is famous for its Spin to Win game, where viewers could win various prizes by spinning a wheel, provided they answered the hosts' call with the correct passphrase.
