This Morning's loyal audience was left in a state of shock during the latest episode when the show's beloved theme tune, which has been a staple for nearly ten years, was unexpectedly replaced.

The popular daytime programme returned for its Friday edition with the much-loved presenting pair, Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond, steering the ship. However, viewers were taken aback and somewhat bewildered as Dermot and Alison introduced the show accompanied by the Royal Marines brass band, who performed a rendition of the iconic This Morning theme.

Despite the seamless musical switch-up, some fans expressed their disconcertion on social media platform X, with reactions ranging from surprise to appreciation.

One viewer exclaimed: "When I first heard the theme music this morning I thought I was going mad lol, freaked out for a second."

Meanwhile, another was curious: "Wonder if that's them that were on the stage with Take That," reports the Mirror.

On the flip side, several viewers praised the military musicians, with one admirer commenting: "Their medals I spot Iraq, Afghan, peacekeeping, Falklands and Kosovo. Brave brave men. I salute you all." Another simply stated: "Good musicians."

The show has yet to confirm whether the band will become a regular feature. However, it appears that the impressive ensemble was likely a special one-time appearance.

In related news, following Thursday's episode, the This Morning crew shared an exciting update on social media about a new competition set to take over from the well-known Spin To Win, aimed at viewers who might have missed the announcement during the broadcast.

In the video, Ben declared: "Now then we've some exciting news to share with you. From next week, get ready to play a brand new competition that's landing right here in the This Morning studio".

Cat added: "Take a look at what the board looks like now". The reveal was of the brand new "Coin Drop game, where participants could win a cool £20,000. Ben emphasised that this substantial amount could be won by someone every single day.

Social media users took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their thoughts on the update. One viewer remarked: "At last, something to replace Spin to Win", while another expressed disappointment: "Ah no I liked spin-to-win. Not that I ever entered [cry-laughing emoji]".

This Morning has been famous for its Spin to Win game, where viewers could win various prizes by spinning a wheel, provided they answered the hosts' call with the correct passphrase.
