But Willoughby standing in alongside Dec Donnelly means her This Morning job was up for grabs for five weeks – and former Saturdays star Rochelle had the daunting task of stepping into her shoes.
Singer Rochelle Humes, who has previously presented the show with her husband Marvin, admitted to some serious first-day nerves, but unfortunately the programme’s fans proved a difficult bunch to please.

I’m not sure I’m going to be able to cope with Rochelle 😬 #thismorning

@thismorning Holly come back . No idea what this new young lady is saying. Diction accent terrible Hands and arms flaying about- phil tense yikes!

People were quick to jump in with suggestions for who they would rather have seen take on the presenting gig.
I love Philip but there’s no charisma with Rochelle she’s the wrong choice to fill Holly’s shoes while she’s away the need to bring in Alison Hammond or Rylan #ThisMorning

Viewers even laid into her outfit choice, complaining that she wasn’t as glamorously dressed as Holly.
Has Holly taken the wardrobe department with her? What's going on with Rochelle's outfit??? #ThisMorning

I think Rochelle's outfit looks really drab, which isn't helping #thismorning

Chin up Rochelle, not everyone had bad things to say – others praised her warm, natural style.
I like Rochelle on #thismorning, doesn’t make everything all about herself!

@thismorning how WONDERFUL to welcome Rochelle-such a truly NATURAL presenter-relaxed & GENUINE-unlike other choices-she takes PRESENTING to credible levels&never SELF-imposes over the job in hand.Well done ITV-she is a shining star-a must-have-more-of item to keep note of-Ellen

Willoughby has been signed up to replace Ant on ITV’s jungle reality show after a tough year for the Geordie presenter and stints in rehab.
McPartlin has entered rehab several times for painkillers addiction and was recently granted a divorce from his wife of 11 years Lisa Armstrong.
It will be the first time in the show’s 18-series history that Dec has hosted it without best mate Ant, and the new series is due to begin in November on ITV.
