This Morning's Alison Hammond confuses Phillip Schofield with funny Halloween gaffe

From Prima

We can always rely on Alison Hammond to brighten our day and the TV star didn't disappoint on This Morning today after inadvertently letting slip that she's been saying 'Trick or Treat' wrong her entire life.

During Alison's segment dedicated to decorative Halloween ideas, the presenter was caught out by host Phillip Schofield when she said 'Treacle Treat' instead of 'Trick or Treat'.

"'Treacle Treat'? What's 'Treacle Treat'?" Phil exclaimed.

"Is it not Treacle Treats?" Alison asked.

When Holly Willoughby also stepped in to correct her, Alison looked blown away as she replied: "No way! Serious? I thought it was Treacle Treat?"

This prompted laughter from Holly and Phil, as Alison continued: "I'm 45 years old and I never knew that."

Phil then asked: "You went around to people's houses with treacle?"

Alison was still stumped by her discovery, and questioned what the 'Trick' in Trick or Treat meant.

"If you don't give them treats then they throw eggs at your house or something," Holly answered.

In the background, Alice Beer pretended to bang her head on the oven in disbelief at the misunderstanding.

But Alison wasn't finished. She then disclosed that she thought that an 'off-licence' was actually called a 'half-licence'.

"Because of my mum's accent," she explained. "You know, you learn something new every day."

Holly confessed that she grew up thinking that her mother carried around a 'hambag' instead of a handbag.

"And it wasn't that long ago that I realised she wasn't!" Holly added.

You guys.

This Morning airs on weekdays on ITV.
