Yahoo News This Morning's Ruth sits out of show – here's who replaced her
This Morning presenter Ruth Langsford sat out of today's (August 22) show as Eamonn Holmes hosted the show with a different presenter.
Viewers were left somewhat surprised at the start of the episode as Eamonn was instead accompanied by Rochelle Humes.
The pair joked that Ruth "looked different", and Rochelle said she had been told by Ruth to "to look after [Eamonn]".
However, they did not specify why Ruth was absent, and Digital Spy has reached out to ITV for comment.
Last week, Ruth walked off the This Morning set to compose herself after a phone-in segment reminded her of her late sister Julia, who passed away in June.
Psychologist Anjula Mutanda, who was hosting the phone-in, said: "Obviously, this has featured in Ruth's life.
"She's upset now. She's had to leave the studio because of her sister, who was a chronic depressive and no matter what, you know, help and medication that was there, it didn't really seem to make much difference.
"There were good times, and bad times."
Ruth revealed the sad news of her sister's death on social media a couple of months ago, and subsequently took some time off the show.
This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10.30am.
