This Morning presenter Sharon Marshall has revealed that her co-star Alison Hammond offered to be a surrogate for her when she was struggling to conceive.
Sharon, who presents regular soap updates on This Morning and who has also written episodes of soaps including Emmerdale, gave birth to her daughter Betsey in July 2018, later opening up about her fertility struggles.
She has now told OK! that Alison offered to be a surrogate for Sharon and her husband Paul Fletcher while they were undergoing several rounds of IVF treatment.

"She offered to be my surrogate, bless her. She's just so gorgeous," Sharon said. "She has the most beautiful soul, to offer to do that for me. The one thing I miss in Covid times is my Alison hugs!"
Sharon added that she also confided in Amanda Holden and Gok Wan after the pair guest-presented This Morning several years ago.
"There was one day, just after I'd had a miscarriage, and there was an item on the show about the most beautiful babies in Britain," she said. "I had a massive breakdown and confided in Amanda Holden and Gok Wan who were hosting that day.
"They were so lovely and Amanda told me to go and get counselling, which I did. I got the loveliest message from her when I got pregnant."
The presenter and writer also spoke about the joy that she and her husband felt after they welcomed Betsey, saying that they felt "pure happiness" when they held her for the first time.
"We were just staring at her," she said. "It was truly a miracle. She was built on science and a little bit of magic. We were instantly besotted."
