Choosing a baby name can be a difficult task. Do you follow fashion or do you have a name for your newborn which is so special to you, it doesn't matter whether or not it's popular.

And for parents who choose not to know whether they're having a boy or a girl, they have twice the work, as they have to be ready with names for both sexes. Baby names can be influenced by celebrities including actors and popstars, and also others in the public eye, such as new babies in the Royal family.

And while baby names among the rich and famous are getting a little weird and 'out there', it's surprising how traditional names are still top among the rest of us. And Kent is a good example of familiar-sounding names still resonating with parents.

KentLive has crunched the data from new figures from the Office for National Statistics, which are for 2022. And while Noah and Olivia were still the most popular names for newborns in England and Wales, that wasn't the case in places in Kent.
