Mother's Day 2018: A gorgeous floral afternoon tea is coming to London

Swanky and ultra chic hotel The Connaught is celebrating Mother's Day with the most Instagrammable and on-trend thing on the planet right now: a floral afternoon tea.

Partnering with master flower school McQueens, the hotel's lush restaurant, Jean-Georges at the Connaught, is hosting 'I Love You Bunches', a special one off afternoon tea where you can test out your own floristry skills before sitting down with mum for an extravagant cake and tea-filled spread. Sounds lovely. It is.

So what of it? If you decide to take a punt on the £150 experience (your mother suffered cramps for nine months, she's got to be worth it), you'll be greeted by hotel staff who will usher you into a private room filled with flowers and McQueens' experts.

Once inside, shove on your gardening gloves to partake in a two-hour tutorial learning all about flower care and a step-by-step demonstration on how to create the perfect bouquet – and yes, you'll be able to take your creation home, too.

After, the fine people who look after the place will take you on a whirlwind walk through the hotel to Jean Georges to feast on chocolate fondue, cakes (hazelnut praliné and milk chocolate rocher included) eclairs, scones and gourmet Connaught candyfloss. Once you've recovered from your sugar coma, wash all down with some of the finest teas on the planet.
