Mother Hawk Feeds Chicks Atop Water Tower in California

A red-tailed hawk family living on an old water tower in Clovis, California, was reported to be doing well as of early May, according to an update from local officials who were monitoring the birds on a webcam.

In two videos posted by Clovis Police on Monday, May 8, the mother hawk is shown feeding four adorable chicks in their nest. Police said the first video was shot just after 5 pm Sunday, and the second was taken on Monday morning.

“Mom arrived with breakfast for her four baby birds while dad remained out hunting,” wrote police alongside the second video.

The police department said that it would post more videos “in the coming weeks as the baby birds continue to grow.” Credit: Clovis Police CA via Storyful
