MTV VMAs 2015: Justin Bieber Cries After Awesome Performance As He Unveils ‘What Do You Mean?’ Video

The MTV Video Music Awards can be an emotional time for anyone, not least for us watching until 3am while birthing a crisp-based food baby and holding our eyes open with cocktail sticks. Don’t try that at home, kids.

It seems the night was too much for Justin Bieber to handle too, as he put his head in his hands and cried after his comeback performance.

It’s alright, Biebs. The awards will be back again next year.

It was the first time the 21-year-old had performed on the VMAs stage since 2010, and it seemed the whole thing was just a little overwhelming for him.

Taking to the stage for a rendition of ‘Where Are U Now’ and new single ‘What Do You Mean?’, Biebs cracked out his very best dance moves as he treated the crowd to a pretty awesome show.

As his performance ended, the Microsoft Theatre was plunged into darkness, with Justin saying (via a pre-recorded tape): “Life is a journey, sometimes a battle.

“Sometimes we focus on the destination, and forget to focus on that journey. But when you fall, it allows you to get up stronger. It allows you not to lean on your own understanding. Give it into fate, believe in something bigger than yourself and find your purpose.”

Defying gravity and looking somewhere between a Cirque du Soleil performance and the beam UFOs send down, Justin then continued his perfomance mid-air, flying and somersaulting on wires, much to the crowd’s delight.

Unfortunately, his big return and his fancy new haircut were too much for him to handle, and he ended up crying with his head in his hands as he caught his breath after his performance.

Crying aside, it was an amazing performance, Bieber, so well done.

After he put on a show, host Miley, who actually announced her own exciting news in the form of a brand spankin’ new album that you can download for FREE now, said: “I was going to keep my jacket on, but now that I know Justin Bieber can fly,” before stripping down to a metallic leotard.

If THAT wasn’t enough (we’re exhausted already), Biebs also dropped the new video for ‘What Do You Mean?’ last night, and it looks like this:

YAAAAS. Too. Good. That’s what you call a brilliant night all-round.
